We lost big pieces of Verona history in 2019. Like Jane Ann Bahr, the matriarch of the family that ran Bahr Lumber for so many decades; Bill Brunner, co-owner of C.T. Brunner and Sons in Verona, at one time the oldest family owned Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in the nation; Larry Burdett, a notable Verona Fire Department chief; Al Ferraiolo Jr., who owned the Verona Diner for many years; Rosemary Greenbank, who ran The Verona-Cedar Grove Times for 23 years; Fred Hill, long-time resident and legendary Rutgers University baseball coach.
But every life lost was big in some way to family, friends and neighbors and, as always, too many left our community much too soon. Take a moment to remember again the Veronans we lost in 2019:
