Mrs. Cheryl M. (nee Montagna) Knapp, 54, died on December 23, 2019 at her home in Verona. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, will be on Friday, December 27 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a service to be held at 8 p.m.
Born and raised in East Orange, Mrs. Knapp lived in Belleville for 28 years before moving to Verona in 1992. She graduated from the Girls Vocational High School and the Madison School of Cosmetology and worked at Things of Beauty Salon in Livingston prior to working at Immaculate Conception High School.
Mrs. Knapp had a big heart, loved her animals and the beach, but most of all loved her family. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Knapp and her father, Albert J. Montagna.
She is survived by her loving children, Gerald J. Knapp and Jake M. Knapp, her beloved mother, Gail (nee Sommerville) Montagna, brother, Al Montagna (Lynn), her granddaughter, Isabella and her nieces, Stephanie and Jessica Montagna.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Barnabas Medical Center Renal and Pancreas Transplant c/o SBMC Development Foundation, 95 Old Short Hills Road, West Orange NJ 07052 in her memory would be appreciated.
