Diane MacEvoy FitzSimmons, 81, died peacefully on January 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones in North Caldwell.
Services and interment were private.
Born and raised in Newark, Diane lived in Verona and Point Pleasant before moving to North Caldwell in 2013. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education and a master’s degree in psychology, both from Seton Hall University.
She was an associate dean with Essex County College, both at the Newark and West Essex campuses. She retired in 2003.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Adamik) FitzSimmons.
Diane is survived by her loving children, Deborah MacEvoy Jacobsen, John P. MacEvoy and his wife, Tricia, and Carolyn E. MacEvoy, and cherished grandchildren Devon Jacobsen, Lucas Jacobsen, Jack MacEvoy, Finnegan MacEvoy and Molly MacEvoy. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Havell.
