
Mrs. Sandra Zilinsky, 88, formerly of Verona and Long Beach Island, died on October 23, 2022 in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Thursday, November 3 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
A funeral mass will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
Born in Queens, New York, Mrs. Zilinsky grew up in Lynbrook, Long Island and lived in Verona for over 60 years, prior to moving to Chester in 2020. She graduated from Malverne High School in 1952 and went to work for Bulova Watch Company, where she met her husband, Walter. They married in 1954 and lived in Manhattan before moving to New Jersey. After being a dedicated full-time mother and raising three children, she worked as deputy court clerk for the Township of Essex Fells, retiring in 1994.
Sandra enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, trips to the Jersey shore, boating, watching British mystery theatre and studying family genealogy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Walter E. Zilinsky, her parents, Frank and Anna (nee Smith) Tosner and her grandson, Michael Scott.
Sandra is survived by her loving children, Walter Zilinsky (Doris), Alicia Scott (David) and Dr. Lynn Hanson (James) and cherished grandchildren, Matthew Scott and Faith, Hope, Joy and Justice Hanson .
