Sr. Jeanne Marie Prince, 82

PrinceOPSr. Jeanne Marie Prince, O.P. died on February 7, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Healthcare Center in Caldwell. She was 82.

A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine of Siena Convent Chapel, 7 Ryerson Avenue (Mount Saint Dominic), Caldwell on Wednesday, February 18 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting at St. Catherine Convent, Caldwell on Tuesday 2 to 7 p.m.

Born in Morristown, Sr. Jeanne Marie grew up in Rockaway, prior to entering the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell on August 15, 1955. She professed vows on July 3, 1957.

Sister has a bachelors in social studies and german from Caldwell College, a masters in History and a second masters in supervision and administration from Seton Hall University.

Sr. Jeanne Marie taught math and religion at Our Lady of the Lake School in Verona, St. Catherine School in Hillside and Ascension School in New Milford. She served as assistant principal at Union Catholic in Scotch Plains and Principal of Nativity School in Midland Park and Ascension School in New Milford. From 2002 to 2012 she taught accelerated math at St. Michael School in Union. Sr. Jeanne Marie was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Caldwell College and superior of Ascension Convent.

Sister is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Healy, Sr. and his wife, Margaret, her nieces, Kathleen Healy Wilson, Mary Ellen Healy Walston and Eileen Healy. She is also survived by her nephews, Timothy Healy, Robert Healy, John Healy, Kevin Healy and many grand-nieces and nephews. Sister was predeceased by her parents, John and Marcella and her sister, Ellen Prince Healy.

Memorial donations to the Sisters of St. Dominic, One Ryerson Avenue, Caldwell NJ 07006 would be appreciated.
