Mrs. Evelyn P. McCullough died on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Glen Ridge. Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home
370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m., with a funeral service to be held at 6 p.m.

Born in Dundee, Scotland, Mrs. McCullough came to the U.S. in 1923 and has lived in Verona since 1927.
She was an IBM operator for NJ Bell Telephone in Newark.

Active in the First Presbyterian Church of Verona, Mrs. McCullough served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, was a member of the handbell choir and the United Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. McCullough was predeceased by her husband, John McCullough and her sister Dorothy Donald. She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Grace Bauerle, 88

Ms. Grace Bauerle, 88, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Glen Ridge. A funeral mass will be offered in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell on Monday, February 3 at 11 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Monday morning from 9 to 10:45 a.m.

Born in Newark, Ms. Bauerle has lived in Verona since 1926. She was an annealer in the filament division of Westinghouse Corp. in Bloomfield for 40 years, retiring in 1982.

Ms. Bauerle was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Immaculata and a Sunday volunteer at the Essex County Hospital Center.

She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Rock, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Rescue Squad or your favorite charity would be appreciated.

Agnes C. Blake, 92

Agnes Connors Blake died February 5, 2014. She was 92.

Agnes “Pixie” was born in Malone, N.Y. in 1921 to the late Michael Connors and Anna Johnston Connors. She grew up in Rainbow Lake (Brighton), N.Y. It was there that she met the love of her life, James H. Blake. They were married in 1942. They lived in Exeter and Rye, N.H. before moving to Verona in 1952.

Pixie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her great grand-parents immigrated to America about 1844 from County Louth Ireland. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She loved gardening, and was always surrounded by her cats. She was pre-deceased by her husband, James, who died in 1995, and by her beloved son Jimmy, who died in 1967.

Pixie is survived by her daughter, Nancy, and her husband of Portsmouth, N.H., and two grandchildren, Christina and Kenneth.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. Pixie pre-arranged for her ashes to be buried in Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, Maine, beside those of her husband.

Donations may be made in her name to the Children’s Room at the Verona Public Library, 17 Gould St., Verona NJ 07044, or to a library of your choice.

Mr. Julius Dell’Olmo, 98, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Palm Bay, Fla. Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Cryptside services will be held in the Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Union, on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Dell’Olmo lived in Verona from 1960 to 2010, when he moved to Melbourne, Fla. He was the owner of Dell Building & Construction in Verona.

Beloved wife, Maria Stella Terrezza Dell’Olmo predeceased Julius in October of 2009. He is survived by his children, Judith (husband Arthur), John Dell’Olmo, Linda (husband Bob) and Michele (husband Bradley). Julius was the brother of Marie Marra, Gloria Guariglia, JoAnne Yorlano, Josephine Pirrello, Phyllis Core, Edythe Guarino and Margaret Marafino.

The sisters always said that he was “A Rose between Thorns”.

Mrs. Janet Ciccolini, 75, died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Glen Ridge.
Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Born in Newark, Mrs. Ciccolini lived in Glen Ridge from 1968 to 1993 and Caldwell from 1993 to 2001, when she moved to Verona.

Mrs. Ciccolini worked in the business office of the Glen Ridge Board of Education prior to her retirement. She was very involved in Board activities at the Claridge House II in Verona and was a loving member of “The Club”, a group of women who had been best friends since their childhood in Newark.

Mrs. Ciccolini was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Anthony Ciccolini, Jr. and her grandson, William Kevin Ciccolini. She was the loving mother of Joseph Anthony Ciccolini, III, Matthew Sabino Ciccolini (and his wife, Donna) and Bart Ciccolini (and his wife, Michelle McCarthy). She was also the sister of Sabino Robert Alviggi (and his wife, Diana) and the grandmother of Joseph Peter, Nicholas Matthew, Thomas James and Mary Anne.

Steve-Feldman2Steven Samuel Feldman (5/9/67 – 2/24/14) died peacefully in his home in Port St. Lucie, Fla. on February 24. He was 46. He was the son of the late Naomi (Cookie) Feldman of Verona and Aaron (Ron) Feldman of Sarasota, Fla., and his stepmother Nikki Feldman, also of Sarasota.

Steve-Feldman3.jpgSteve attended the Verona public schools, graduating from Verona High School in 1985.

He owned and operated Feldman’s Movers. He was loved by many and always put a smile on people’s faces. In 2008, he moved to Port St. Lucie.

Mrs. Carol Anne Rembert, 74, died on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at her home in Verona. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday, April 3 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Born and raised in Irvington, NJ, Mrs. Rembert moved to Verona in 1963.

She earned a diploma from the Morris County Vocational Technical School in Denville as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for 22 years at The Canterbury at Cedar Grove Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Rembert was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Rembert, Jr. She is survived by her three daughters, Anne Marie Calcaterra (and her husband, Douglas), Elizabeth Ballard (and her husband, Jonathan), Therese Rembert, her son Charles J. Rembert, III and her granddaughter Felicia Calcaterra.

Born and raised in Newark, he has been a resident of Verona for over 30 years. He was a Hairdresser for Panico’s Salon and Spa in West Caldwell for over 12 years. He was also a proud member of the design team for Joico and Iso Hair Co.

Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington prior to moving to Verona in 1952.

Mrs. Kregloski was predeceased by her husband of 77 years, Frank P. Kregloski in 2013. She is survived by her children Richard Kregloski and Deborah Gray (and her husband, Donald) and is also survived by her grandchildren Kim Kregloski, Tammy Melchione(and her husband, Louis), Paul Gray, Corey Gray (and his wife, Kelly), Scott Kregloski, David Kregloski (and his wife, Mandy), Christopher Kregloski and her great grandchildren, Michael & Alyssa Melchione, Emily & Brooke Kregloski, Ryan & Justin Gray.

Mrs. Ciccone was predeceased by her beloved husband, Angelo Ciccone, Sr., her daughter, Lillian Schmaus, and her son, Angelo Ciccone, Jr. She was the loving grandmother of Krista Lynn Daigle (and her husband Brandon) and Anthony Schmaus (and his wife Jessica) and great-grandmother of William Daigle.

Born in Newark, Mr. Seeley lived in Irvington prior to moving to Verona in 1953. Mr. Seeley served in the Army from 1946 to 1952.

He had a degree in Chemical Engineering & Micro Electronics from the Newark College of Engineering and retired as a Chemical Engineer from ITT Labs in Nutley in 1983. He was a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Mrs. Hull was a member of the Eastern Star of East Orange and immensely enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Warren D. Hull, Sr. and her daughter, Susan Fusco and her son-in-law, William Scuorzo. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Scuorzo, her son, Warren D. Hull, Jr. (and his wife, Kathleen), 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mr. Serio was the husband of the late Rosemarie Serio, the father of Delores Hillman, Susan Aitken (and her husband, George), Teresa Serio (and her husband, Mark Simmons) and the late Robert Migliano. He was the brother of Jean Astore, the late Jacqueline Cicchetti and the late Mary Serina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jamie Moreno, Georgette Hillman, Michael Serio-Simmons, Katie Aitken, Hannah Aitken and his great grandchildren, Teresa Moreno, Jorge Moreno, Eva Moreno and Jordan Wimberly.

Born in the Bronx, Mr. Woods lived in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Coral Springs, Fla. before moving to Verona in 1980.

He worked as a sales rep for Hasselblad USA in Fairfield for 43 years, retiring in 1999. Mr. Woods was a U.S. Army veteran and former member of VFW Post 6255 in Cedar Grove.

Mr. Woods was the husband of Eileen Woods, the father of Donna Woods, Doreen Carbone (and her husband, Stephen) and Tracey DeLisi (and her husband, Philip). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas P. Woods, Jr. and his brother, Harry.

771898Rose Marie (Luzzi) Knapik, 76, of East Hanover, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Montclair, she resided in Verona before moving to East Hanover 45 years ago. A 1956 graduate of Verona High School, Rose Marie was known for her beautiful voice. Her passions were her family, reading, and baking.

Rose Marie was a teacher’s aide for East Hanover and St. Rose of Lima School prior to her employment as an executive secretary for Nabisco. She is a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima RC Church and a member of the Columbiettes Council 6504.

Rose Marie is pre-deceased by her parents, Angelo and Rose (Livelli) Luzzi. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Andrew Charles Knapik, by her son, Andrew and wife Maria, by her daughter Michele, by 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Justis, Andrew, Jace, and Domenick, by two sisters, Kay Luzzi, and Trish Cano and husband Joe, by a brother, Richard Luzzi and wife Judy, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 8:30 a.m. at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at St. Rose of Lima RC Church. Visiting hours are Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Kelch is survived by his spouse and partner of 34 years Thomas McGovern, his sisters Joan Osborne, Sharon Radicsh and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James Kelch and his sister, Patricia Sturm.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Mrs. Tomeo moved to Verona in 1957. She had a bachelors degree in French and English from Caldwell College.

Mrs. Tomeo devoted her life to children, having taught at Dickinson High School in Jersey City for eight years and at Our Lady of the Lake School in Verona for 30 years, retiring in 2004.

Mrs. Tomeo was predeceased by her sister, Margaret O’Toole and her brothers, William O’Toole and the Reverend Edward O’Toole.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin G. Tomeo, her children David G. Tomeo (and his wife, Robin), Aline Dymkowski (and her husband, Joseph), Robert Tomeo (and his wife, Christina) and her grandchildren, David, Joseph, Alyssa, Christopher, Brandon, Emily, Stephen and Isabella.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Dong moved to Verona in 1952. She graduated from Hunter College and Montclair State Teachers College and was a Kindergarten teacher for the Newark Board of Education for 24 years before retiring in 1982. She was a Den Mother for BSA Pack 2 in Verona.

Mrs. Dong is survived by her husband, James C. Dong, Sr., her sons, Robert, Fred and James, Jr. and her siblings, Wallace Chu, Victoria Moy, Florence Dick and Sophia Chan. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Stacey Miskell and great granddaughter, Ivy.
