Jolyne Christine Askling, 51

Mrs. Jolyne Christine Askling (nee Hegarty), 51, died peacefully at home in West Caldwell on January 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, will be on Monday, January 10 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Avenue Bistro.

Born in Anoka, Minnesota, Jolyne grew up in Moose Lake, Minnesota and lived in Verona for 15 years before moving to West Caldwell in 2005.

She graduated with an associate’s degree from Berkeley College in Woodland Park.

Jolyne worked professionally as a merchandiser and demo specialist for That’s How We Roll and devoted her love and life to her family as a homemaker extraordinaire.

Jolyne enjoyed being both a “museum and wrestling mom” and volunteering as an aide at the Jefferson School in Caldwell.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dewitt Lee and Robyn (nee Lewko) Hegarty Spiess.

Jolyne is survived by her devoted husband, John D. Askling, Jr.; loving children, Haley Askling and John D. Askling, III; loving brother, Shane Hegarty; maternal grandmother, Anita Lewko; step-father Jerry Spiess and step-siblings Jenny & Michael .

Donations in her memory to Verona PBA, Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department or the James Caldwell High School Wrestling Team would be greatly appreciated.
