Richard Garszczal, 72, died on May 1, 2021 in Livingston, NJ.
Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Wednesday, May 5 from 9 to 10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lakeside Ave., Verona at 10:30 a.m.
Because of the war, he was born in a Polish Refugee Settlement in Koja, Uganda; a year later the family to New Brigden & Oyen in Alberta, Canada where he grew up and became a Mechanic.
Mr. Garszczal eventually moved to Passaic, N.J. and then, in 1986 to Verona, all the while working at Okonite Company in Passaic and then at Norton Performance Plastics in Wayne.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (nee Tarczynski) Garszczal; his children, Rachel Harayda, Julie-Ann Carroll (Steven), Richard Garszczal, Patricia Garszczal; his grandchildren Seamus Carroll and Jason Harayda; his sister Sophie Huzar.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Kristina, Jimmy and Bruno.
