Raymond A. Dewar, Jr., Former Verona Resident

Raymond A. Dewar, Jr., 66, of Mt. Bethel, Pa., passed away on, Wednesday, January 8, at his residence. Raymond was born in Newport News, Va. on January 15, 1953, a son of the late Raymond A. Dewar, Sr and Janet (Bork) Dewar, and grew up in Verona.

He was the husband of Terrie J. (Antolick) Dewar. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary last June. He received his bachelors degree in accounting from William Patterson University. Raymond was employed as a tax agent and preparer at H & R Block in Bangor, Pa. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Enrolled Agents, and was an elected official with the Republican National Committee. Raymond enjoyed volunteering with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.

He was an active member of Calvary Bible Church in East Stroudsburg, Pa.

In addition to his wife, Terrie, Raymond is survived by two daughters; Laurisa A.Telesh and Monique E. Dituri, two sons; Raymond A. Dewar, III and Timothy J. Dewar, three sisters; Mary Ellen, Kathy, and Melissa, a brother; Matthew Dewar, two grandsons; Raymond A. Dewar, IV, and Brendan M. Dewar. He was preceded in death by a brother William Dewar.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 12. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 300, C/O the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home, 4 Lillian Lane, Bangor, PA 18013
