The Essex County Prosecutor’s office has released this statement on the February death of Kellie Brady Swanstrom:
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the investigation conducted by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force into the death of Kellie Swanstrom, 41, is closed at this time.
On Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 Swanstrom sustained fatal injuries at her Linden Avenue home in Verona. The manner of death remains undetermined but the final autopsy report indicates the cause of death is blunt impact injuries of the head, caused by a fall down the basement steps. Alcohol may have contributed.
Swanstrom was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was subsequently taken to the Regional Medical Examiners Office in Newark.
