Mr. John Lubrano, 78, died on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Thursday, March 15 from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday, March 15 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Lubrano lived in Plantation and Coral Springs, Fla. prior to moving to Verona in 1998. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1963.
Mr. Lubrano was a chef and restaurateur at various Italian restaurants in northern New Jersey, New York and Florida. In New Jersey, Mr. Lubrano worked at the Prudential Dining Services in Roseland and Poppa Tony’s in Cedar Grove with his brother, Anthony.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Rose and his brother, Anthony. He is survived by his sisters, Catherine Brody, Grace Lewis and his nieces and nephews: John Lubrano, Lenny Lubrano, Anthony Lubrano, Charles Cataldi, Debi Guido, Janet Scott, Kimberly Melchionne, Barbara Lewis, Laura Lubrano and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 would be appreciated.
