Mr. James Roche, 86, died on November 12, 2015 at his home in Verona. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Monday, November 16 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born in Kilbrittain, County Cork, Ireland, Mr. Roche came to the U.S. in 1959 and lived in Montclair prior to moving to Verona 47 years ago.
He was an engineer at ITT Corp. in Nutley before retiring in 1998 and was also an adjunct professor at Bloomfield College.
Mr. Roche was the husband of Kathleen Herron Roche, the father of Kerry Ann Hahn, ( and her husband, Steven), James Michael Roche (and his wife, Wendy Cooper), Dianne Margaret Roche and Aran Patricia Roche (and her husband, Matthew Podwoski). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle Hahn, Shannon Hahn, Colin Roche, Seamus Podwoski and Gillian Roche.
