Mrs. Mary A. Mellon, 92, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Fountain View Care Center in Lakewood. Private family visiting will be held.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Mellon moved to Verona in 1968. She was a telephone operator for NJ Bell Telephone on Washington Avenue, Newark for 25 years.
Mrs. Mellon was a member of the Verona Senior Citizens Club and the HG McCully Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is the wife of the late William A. Mellon, the mother of Cheryl Barcelo (and her husband Joseph), Maureen McNamara (and her husband John), Patricia Mellon and Kathleen Engler (and her husband Gary). She is also the grandmother of Jennifer Monaco, Kevin Bowden, the great-grandmother of Kira and Leo and the sister of the late Ray Martin.
