Ms. M. Adele Meehan, 94, died on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home in Verona. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Friday, August 17 at 11AM. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Born in the Bronx, Ms. Meehan moved to Verona in May, 1921. She was a claims examiner for the Prudential Insurance Co. in Newark for 42 years, retiring in 1980.
Ms. Meehan was a volunteer for the Montclair Community Hospital from 1980 to 2000 and also volunteered with the Convalescent Aid Program of Our Lady of the Lake Church.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Vera, William, James, Edward, Arthur and Richard. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Doris Meehan, Janet Meehan, Patricia Meehan and 27 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Endowment Trust of Our Lady of the Lake Church would be appreciated.
